Type 2 - Steady Rests with removable top

Suitable for workpiece diameters from 400 to 1,500 mm and loads up to 30 tons. The steady rest with removable top is designed for thinner workpieces, which is out of the chuck more than 2.5 times of the diameter and are available with three or four quills, depending upon the application. The top has to be lifted with a crane.

This steady rest can be used whith horizontal drilling machines, where it can be arranged on the front side. It can also be used with a turntable and a dividing attachment.

This steady rest can also be fitted with the protected electronic measuring device. The steady rest can identify the centre of its machine and the quills can be preset on the basis of the tool diameter. This idea, which is patented, was invented by the master of tool and diemaking, Harry Richter and then developed for application by Richter Vorrichtungsbau.
